Synopsis

'Countdown' pursues a business man who is desperately trying to evade a deadly sniper located in an industrialized area. The trailer releases the message of escape to freedom from an unexpected death. His life  is on the line where the only shield of protection is others around him, the alleyways and lastly the phone booth as a safe house. To escape from the predator lurking inside the mysterious sky scrapers and train stations he must face the challenges alone.

'Countdown' is a fast paced action thriller which involves bursts of shots from several angles representing the struggle in which the business man faces as he is targeted from the roof tops down to the peak.
Long shots can be used as an establishing shot to show the area of an industrialized surrounding. We chose the Liverpool St station, London location for a specific purpose because it is densely populated at all times. The purpose of it being a densely populated area gives it a sense of civilians being at risk from a sniper that stealths around toy-ing with its prey (business man).

Our objective is to build mountains of shots from different angles and speeds to represent the fast thrilling chase and desperation for the characters freedom. Close-ups and mid range shots can focus on his body actions becoming more exhausted and weak whereas extreme close up shots can release the suspense and fear the character has bursting within him. Point of view shots is a vital shot needed to portray the mysterious significance of the sniper spying down waiting to kill. Spying shots can affect the audience making it more thrilling and tense.

By rapid action fast editing and shot cuts 'Countdown' stretches the muscles of what a conventional high 'predator chasing prey' pursuit should look and feel like. The trailer should allow the audience to clench on to their seats and sweat from their finger tips as the thrilling chases trails through the populated area of London.

'Phone Booth' has inspired us because of its similar story-line and catalogues of shots in which we will adapt into our one minute trailer.
